Path Control Menu
Matte Path Control Menus
Paths associated with mattes or colors provide controls that may be used to
affect hue. In the Border Path menu example below, the path controls for all
the border box parameters except matte are controlled with the
HOLD
and
PATH TYPE
soft buttons, and with the three soft knobs when
CURVE
is
selected. The additional matte path controls are located on the lower right
side of the screen.
The Matte Path hue related controls are defined as follows:
HOLD MATTE
— when
ON
, retains the hue at the beginning of the keyframe
and throughout the keyframe. The hue changes at the beginning of the fol-
lowing keyframe.
MATTE PATH
— matte paths can be
LINEAR
or
S-LINEAR
.
LINEAR
— applies a linear interpolation to the function’s values between
keyframes. The values change at a constant rate throughout the key-
frame duration.
S-LINEAR
— applies an interpolation to the function’s values between
keyframes which includes acceleration and deceleration of the rate of
change at the beginning and end of each keyframe.
HUE DIRECTION
— permits one of four choices for hue path to be made:
CW
— selects a clockwise path (as seen on a vectorscope).
CCW
— selects a counter-clockwise path.
SHORT
— selects the shortest path; the least hue change between key-
frames (i.e. a short transition from 40° to 320° transitions through 0°).
LONG
— causes the most amount of hue change to take place (i.e. a long
transition from 40° to 320° transitions through 180°).
