Section 2 — Controls
Joystick
The Joystick is a precision three-axis device. Moving the Joystick towards
or away from you controls the Y-axis, left and right movement controls the
X-axis, and rotation of the Joystick controls the Z-axis.
Turbo Button
The turbo button on the top of the Joystick can be used to accelerate trans-
form offsets to allow quicker placement of the transformed pictures.
Holding down a button (or buttons) constrains the movement to the direc-
tion(s) of the buttons pressed. For example, if the
X
button is held down
while the Joystick is moved, then only the X-axis deflection is performed.
When one of these buttons is pressed, the parameter corresponding to the
axis of the button pushed (for example, Locate X for the
X
button) is
assigned to the Keypad and/or Joystick. The keypad may then be used to
enter an exact value for the parameter. More than one transform parameter
may be assigned to the Keypad by holding down multiple axis buttons. A
plus (+) sign shows in the Keypad display to indicate multiple selections.
The first button pressed is the parameter that gets displayed in the Keypad,
but values entered from the Keypad will be applied to each assigned
parameter.
When the
Knob Control
button is pressed on (lit), the current parameters
assigned to the X, Y, and Z axes are copied to the top three soft knobs.
Adjusting the soft knobs allows finer control of transform parameters.
When
Knob Control
is turned off (unlit), any parameters that were previously
assigned to the soft knobs are restored.
