Combiner Background Menu
4 Channel Combiner Background
The Four Channel Combiner background is separate from the individual
channel backgrounds. However, only one background will be visible at a
time on an individual output. If a channel is using a background, it will be
passed on to subsequent combiner stages. Because that channel’s back-
ground fills the entire raster, if a combiner background is also selected it
will be hidden until the channel’s background is turned off. Also, the por-
tions of any other channels that are “behind” a channel using a background
will also be hidden.

COMBINER BACKGROUND >
to access the
Combiner Background menu shown below. (This menu is also accessible
from the Combiner Control menu when
OUTPUTS
is selected.) From this
menu you can adjust the background for the primary and secondary com-
biner outputs. These controls are only available when the Camera channel
is delegated and is the display channel (first channel delegated).
Press
MODIFY
to select the Primary or Secondary output, then press
BACKGROUND MODE
to select the desired background.
The combiner backgrounds of the primary and secondary outputs can be
any of the following:
VIDEO
— uses the externally input background video as the background.
Each Combiner Output module has a background input video connector,
which is used exclusively by the user of that output module. This same
video input is delivered to both the primary and secondary outputs if video
background is selected for these outputs.

— provides a superblack for background (0 black).
