Lighting Menu
Shade 2
When you want to create shading effects based on two light sources, press
LIGHTING MODE
to highlight the
SHADE 2
parameter as shown in the menu
below.
There are three components to the light. The Specular component repre-
sents light reflected off of the surface of the transformed image. The
Shading component represents how the light illuminates the image itself.
The Ambient component represents how dark the deepest shadow can be.
The
ADJUST LEVELS
soft button allows you to control the
SPECULAR
or
SHADING
functions separately.
The
SHADING
parameter adds controls for
SHADING
INTENSITY
and
AMBIENT LEVELS
. The shading effect remains realistic when the
image is transformed. Each light used is at half bandwidth.
Shade 2 Lighting menu functions:
ADJUST LEVELS
lets you separately control the following parameters by
using the soft knobs.
SPECULAR
—
adds soft knob controls for light intensity, specular diffu-
sion, add/mix ratio, and opacity.
SHADING
—
adds soft knob controls for shading intensity and ambient
light levels. These knobs control how much of the picture you can see
in shaded areas.

LIGHT INTENSITY
—
controls the brightness of the light at the source. The
menu display lets you know which light you are adjusting by showing
Light 1 or Light 2 Intensity.
