Defocus and Glow functions become available to a Krystal channel when
the Defocus Option is installed into that channel’s Video Processor frame.
Defocus permits you to alter the sharpness of video and keys in a variety of
ways. Defocus can be constrained to vertical, horizontal, chroma, and/or
luminance, and can be masked by an internal or external source. Defocus
also includes a Boundary Replicate feature that permits fine control of the
edges of defocused images.
Glow adds a soft rounded matte edge around a key or cropped source. You
can change the width, keying opacity, and color characteristics of the glow,
and several types of glow/image combinations are available. Glow effects
can reach to the outside edge of the original key or cropped source, but
cannot extend beyond the uncropped/unkeyed source rectangle.
Because Defocus and Glow functions use the same hardware, they cannot
both be active at the same time on the same key frame.
