Lower and Raise
Sample Probe
You manually raise or lower the Sample Probe when you are
adjusting the probe height. This adjustment is recommended when
using different microtiter plates or when changing Sample Probes.
See “Adjust the Sample Probe Vertical Height” on page A-10 for the
adjusting procedure.
To lower the Sample Probe:
1. Select a well location (or use the default well).
2. Click Sample Probe Down on the Maintenance tab. The Sample
Probe lowers. Red text appears above the Eject button in the
XYP commands section warning you to raise the Sample Probe
after the Sample Probe adjustment is complete.
The Sample Probe Down button toggles to show Sample Probe
Up after you command the system to lower the probe.
3. Click Sample Probe Up. The Sample Probe raises back up to
the ready position.
The Sample Probe Up button toggles to show Sample Probe
Down after you enter the Sample Probe Up command.
Diagnostics Tab
Use the Diagnostics tab to monitor the progress of commands you
initiate within the system. See Figure 42. Features on the tab also
monitor specific details regarding each sample analysis and the state
of system components. The tab displays the System Monitor,
Message Log, and Detailed Sample Progress chart.
