Analyzer Fails
Controls
Perform the following items in order until you find your
problem.
1. View the system control trend report.
2. Verify that the system control microspheres were properly mixed
before they were dispensed into the wells.
3. Check the lot numbers and target values entered into Update
CON Targets dialog box.
4. Verify that you added the system xMAP control microspheres to
the correct wells on the plate.
5. Check for sufficient volume added to the well.
6. Complete the following analyzer functions from the Maintenance
Tab: Backflush, Drain, Alcohol Flush and Water Wash.
7. Calibrate and verify the system.
8. Open a new bottle of xMAP verification microspheres and repeat
the verification process.
9. Replace the Luminex XYP instrument Sample Probe with the
short Sample Probe and repeat the suggestions above. If you can
verify the system using the short sample probe, then readjust the
Sample Probe height or ensure that it is not blocked.
Failure During
Self-Diagnostic
Tests
If the self diagnostics routine fails, the Diagnostics Tab shows a red
error message with the description: This indicates that the Luminex
100 analyzer reported a failed self-diagnostics test. If the routing
fails the background to this message is yellow. Double click the
yellow row to display a detailed device error window. This window
shows specific details about the failed routine.
If any of the following functions fail, power off the analyzer and the
PC. Restart the system and repeat the Self Diagnostics test.
