Installation
Assemble and
Power up System
Before installing the system, ensure that the facility complies with all
system and safety requirements. Read the safety information that
begins in “Warnings and Notes” on page 2-2. Position the instrument
to minimize temperature fluctuations.
Hardware Setup
The following sections describe how to set up the 100 IS hardware
components.
Connect the
Luminex XYP
Instrument and the
Luminex 100
Analyzer to the PC
‹ To assemble and power on the system:
1. Unpack the Luminex 100 analyzer, the Luminex XYP
instrument, and the PC and monitor. Review “Hardware” on
page 3-2 and identify each system component.
2. Place the Luminex XYP instrument on a clean, flat surface.

3. Remove the red shipping pin. Leave the silver knob in the
Luminex XYP instrument. See Figure 131.
