Buffer Hit Ratio
Oracle
The buffer cache hit ratio calculates how
often a requested block has been found
in the buffer cache, without requiring disk
access. If the ratio is less then 90 percent
investigate further. You may need to
increase cache size by increasing
db_block_buffer(8i) or
db_cache_size(9i).

used. For example, if this monitoring
appears pegged at 100 percent, this
means one or more Sybase databases on
the host are using 100 percent of the
Sybase CPU, not the host CPU. The host
CPU could be pegged at 60 percent,
while the Sybase CPU is pegged at 100
percent.
