Select Populate Report Cache if you want to refresh the reports cache during the import. Keep
in mind that the amount of time to import the database may increase if you select this option and
the database has a large amount of data for reports. Alternatively you can refresh the report
cache from the management server (Reports > Storage Essentials > Report Configuration
> Report Cache).
7.
Click the Import Database button.
Re-initializing the Database
Keep in mind the following:
•
Re-initializing the database removes everything from the database. This is not recommended
unless you are sure about what you are doing. It is strongly suggested you export the database
before you re-initialize it. See ”
” on page 245 for more information on
how to save the database.
•
When you re-initialize the database, all users are logged out of the management server.
•
Ignore the warning messages in the command prompt window that pop up when the Database
Admin Utility runs. See ”
Warning Messages During Reinitializing the Database
for more information.
To clear the database:
1.
Access the Database Admin Utility as described in ”
Accessing the Database Admin Utility
2.
Select one of the following check boxes depending on the database tables you want to
re-initialize:
• Re-initialize SE Schema—specifies the removal of all data from the Storage Essentials
database tables.
• Re-initialize HPSIM Schema—specifies the removal of all data from the HP System Insight
Manager database tables.
3.
Click Re-initialize Database in the left pane.
4.
Type the password of the SYSTEM account. Then, click OK. The default password of the SYSTEM
account is the following: manager
You are notified when the re-initialization is complete.
5.
Click the Re-initialize Database button.
Resetting the Temp and Undo Tablespace
The temporary and undo tablespace may grow large due to high database activity. You should
regularly reset the temp and undo tablespace to its initial value, as described in this section.
To reset the tablespace:
1.
Access the Database Admin Utility as described in ”
Accessing the Database Admin Utility
2.
Click Reset Temp Tablespace in the left pane.
3.
Type the SYS password in the SYS Password field.
4.
Click the Reset Temp Tablespace button.
