15. SAT 3C/D/F INSTALLATION
Dip Switch Settings and LEDs
24VAC & GND (POWER CONNECTIONS)
This SAT 3C/D/F controller’s power requirements are 24VAC and it draws 10 VA. Please note: You must observe polarity when connecting the
power connections to the SAT 3C/D/F controller or else damage to the SAT 3C/D/F controller could result.
.
R & T & SHIELD (SAT COMMUNICATIONS CONNECTIONS)
Communications loop can be “home run" to a power and switchable comm board - WM part # PL102224. The use of a shielded twisted pair
wire is required, such as WM part # WR-NL-WR-18 or WR-LL-WG-18. When connecting the communication wiring from satellite controllers
to other satellite controllers, you must wire "R" to "R" and "T" to "T", and "SHIELD" to SHIELD". The shield connection for all of the WCC III
type RS-485 communications loops is required for all WCC III devices, SAT III, SAT 3C/D/F, SAT 3P, TUCs, RTUs, and VAVZ II controllers.
R & T & SHIELD (TUC COMMUNICATIONS CONNECTIONS)
This RS-485 TUC communications loop can be daisy chained from one TUC/RTU type controller to the next TUC/RTU type controller or the TUC
communications loop can be "home run" to a power and switchable comm board - WM part # PL102224. The use of a shielded twisted pair wire
is required, such as WM part # WR-LL-WG-18 or WR-NL-WR-18. When connecting the TUC communication's loop wiring from the satellite
controllers (SAT 3C/D/F) to the first TUC/RTU device, you must wire "R" to "T" and "T" to "R" and "SHLD" to "SHLD". But other TUC/RTU
WCC III type RS-485 communications loops is required for all WCC III devices, SAT III, SAT 3C/D/F, SAT 3P, TUCs, RTUs, and VAVZ II controllers.

OPTION 1 switch is not used at this time.
LOCAL SET DISABLE switch is used to disable the SAT 3C/D/F controller's LOCSET (LOCAL SET) mode.
TEST switch is used for testing purposes.
LEDs
There are eight LEDs on the front of the SAT 3C/D/F controller.
TUC REC- Every time a communications packet is received by the SAT 3C/D/F controller this LED will blink.
TUC XMIT -

SAT XMIT- Every time a communications packet is transmitted by the SAT 3C/D/F controller, this LED will blink. This communications packet originates
at the SAT 3C/D/F controller.

LOCAL SET switch is used to enable the SAT 3C/D/F controller’s LOCSET mode and is used when the SAT 3C/D/F controller is still communicating
at the WCC III - MCD.
BAT ON/OFF switch does nothing. It was originally intended to blank out the memory on the satellite’s CPU RAM chip and was a carry-over
from the old SAT 2 C/D controller.
Address to #20. Whenever setting this address dipswitch setting, you must cycle power up to the SAT 3C/D/F controller.
switch #3 and switch #4 ON sets the SAT 3 D/F Controller’s to #12. Another example setting with switches #3 and #5 on, sets the SAT 3 D/F controller’s
Sets the SAT 3C/D/F controller’s address to #64. Switch #8 ON sets the SAT 3 C/D/F controller’s address to #128. These 8 switches are additive, so setting
This dipswitch sets the address setting for the SAT 3 C/D/F controller. The SAT 3 D/F controller has a valid address range is from 4 to 239 in increments
of 4 starting at address #4. The SAT 3C controller has a valid address range from 8 to 239 in increments of 8 starting at address #8. The following explains
how to set the SAT 3C/D/F controller’s address: Switch #3 ON sets the SAT 3D/F controller’s address to #4. Switch #4 ON sets the SAT 3C/D/F controller’s
address to #8. Switch #5 ON, sets the SAT 3C/D/F controller’s address to #16. Switch #6 ON sets the SAT 3C/D/F controller’s address to #32. Switch #7 ON
