Lift and safely support the utility vehicle, as
described in the LIFTING AND SUPPORTING
section of this manual.
18.
Drain the transfer case lube into an appropriate
container, as described in the DRIVE SYSTEM
SERVICE: LUBRICATION section of this man-
ual.

Disconnect the front drive shaft, as described in
the DRIVE SYSTEM SERVICE: DRIVE SHAFT
TO FRONT DIFFERENTIAL section of this man-
ual. See Figure 2.51.
20.
Unbolt the transfer case brackets from the tray
using a pair of 1/2” wrenches. See Figure 2.52.
NOTE: The nuts are easily accessible through
access slots in the bottom of the cradle.
NOTE: Do NOT unbolt the transfer case from
the brackets that connect it to the tray.

Slide the transfer case forward to disengage the
drive shaft that connects it to the rear differential.
See Figure 2.53.
22.
Tilt the transfer case rearward, so that the shift
linkages clear the bottom of the exhaust system,
and slide it to the left of the vehicle.
