13h. Match-mark the two coolant pipes at the
engine end of the system. Disconnect the
to-radiator pipe by loosening the hose
clamp using a 5/16” driver.
13i. Remove the single screw from the center
of the clamp that holds the two pipes to
the frame using a 3/8” wrench.
See Figure 8.87.
13j. Match-mark the to-radiator pipe for align-
ment, roughly 4” (10cm) in front of the S-
bend beneath the passenger’s seat.

13k. Use a compact tubing cutter, ratcheting
tubing cutter, or a hacksaw to cut the to-
radiator pipe at this point.
13l. Remove the rear half of the to-radiator

13m. Match-mark the return pipe for alignment
in such a way that the pieces can be dis-
tinguished from the pieces of the to-radia-
tor pipe.
13n. Use a compact tubing cutter, ratcheting
tubing cutter, or a hacksaw to cut the to
return pipe at this point. See Figure 8.89.
13o. Remove the rear half of the return pipe,
then maneuver the front part of each pipe
out of the frame.
13p. Prepare for Installation: Match-mark and
cut the replacement pipe or pipes to
match the removed pipes.
13q. Cut two 3” (7.6cm) lengths or straight 7/8”
(2.23cm), and have two pair of hose
clamps suitable for securing the 3” lengths
of hose handy. See Figure 8.90.
