ENGINE MAINTENANCE ACCESS
CAUTION: Allow the engine and it’s exhaust
system to cool before performing any work on or
around the engine.
CAUTION: Disable the engine when working
around any components that rotate while the
engine is running unless engine operation is
required for diagnosis or measurement:
•
Remove the key from the key switch to prevent
the engine from being started while service is
being done.
•
Disconnect and ground the spark plug high ten-
sion leads to prevent the engaging from starting
unintentionally.
•
Disconnect the ground cable from the negative
post on the battery to prevent any electrical
shorts or unintentional triggering of the starter
motor while work is being done.
NOTE: The intent of this section is to provide
guidance for reaching maintenance points on
the engine as it is positioned in the vehicle. For
engine-specific information, refer to the Owner’s
Manual and Service Manual published by
Kohler that apply to the engine in this vehicle.
Follow all safety guidelines (WARNINGs and
CAUTIONs) and service instructions in the
Kohler Command Series CH18-26 and CH730-
750 Owner’s Manual.
1.
Access to routine maintenance points can be
achieved by raising the cargo box, releasing the
