Setting up AFT and ALB functions (for Windows NT)
1 Install the network driver by the usual procedure.
2 Select “Network” from the “Control Panel”.
The “Intel (R) PROSet” window opens.
3 Select the “Adapter” tab and double-click one of the network adapters.
4 Select the “Adapter Teaming” tab and click the “Add Adapter to a Team ...”
button.
5 Select the desirable function (AFT or ALB) and click the “next” button.
NOTE: This server does not support the “Fast EtherChannel”.
6 Select the network adapter card to use the AFT or ALB function.0D
7 After confirming that a desirable combination is set up, click the “Finish”
button.
Automatic shutdown function
If the automatic shutdown function is used, not only shutdown of the operating
system but switching the server off can be executed with operation of the power
switch only.
The automatic shutdown function is activated by the Windows NT/2000 Server
only.
Setup of automatic shutdown function
To install the automatic shutdown function manually, operate as follows after
installation of the Windows NT/2000 Server is complete.
NOTE: The automatic shutdown function can be automatically installed
when the Windows NT/2000 Server is automatically installed by the
Toshiba Server Setup Tool.
1 Log in the user ID of the Administrator (or a person having the competence
equivalent to the Administrator’s) for the Windows NT/2000 operating sys-
tem.
2 Set the CD-ROM of the Toshiba Server Setup Tool in the CD-ROM drive.
