Use the SSU on the following occasions:

™

to change the setting value of the mother board,

™

to install/remove an expansion card and to change its setting values,

™

to verify the setting in detail.

Some ISA expansion cards are supplied together with the configuration file
(CFG file) for hardware setting. The CFG file is needed for setup with the SSU.

NOTE: After the system configuration or some setting value was changed
with the SSU, select “Save” on each submenu to save the data on the
change without fail.
If the data on the change is not saved, the server does not recognize the
changed system configuration.

Startup of SSU (System Setup Utility)

The program of the SSU is contained in the two floppy disks named “System
Setup Utility (SSU)” supplied with the server. Those floppy disks are indis-
pensable to start the SSU and to make backup copies of CFG files. Be sure to
back up those floppy disks so as to use the backup copies generally while keep-
ing the master disks carefully.

Start up the SSU according to the following procedure.

1 Insert the first disk of the SSU floppy disks into the floppy disk drive of the

server and turn it on.

2 Making sure of the following message appearing on the display, insert the

second floppy disk into the floppy disk drive replacing the first disk with it
and press the key.

Tool, the SSU can be started by selecting the menu of the Toshiba Server Setup
