Management Control Blade (MCB)
The MCB is the primary point of intelligent management in the library. The MCB stores firmware and
configuration data for itself as well as most other intelligent components in the library. It also contains
the LMC, which enables local or remote users or hosts to operate, configure, and monitor the library.
The MCB collects status information on other components in the library and issues notifications when
problems occur.
Robotics Control Unit (RCU)
The RCU provides robotics intelligence that controls accessor movements and functions, including
picker, pivot, and reach actions. It receives commands from hosts or users by way of the MCB.
Library Motor Driver (LMD)
The LMD monitors wiring, fuses, and relays within the library. It regulates power levels and performs
other power-related functions, such as disabling robotics when a library door opens.
