9.8.37 Hourmeter Indicator Troubleshooting

Check wire 38 (ORG) for
battery voltage to instrument
panel connector.
Hourmeter indicator does
not register
operating hours.
Check for proper ground at
alternator. Refer to pages
9.38, 9.39, 9.40, 9.41, 9.50,
9.51, 9.62, 9.63, 9.64,
9.65,9.74, 9.75, 9.84, 9.85,
9.86, 9.87, 9.102 or 9.103.
Repair ground wires as
necessary.
Check alternator terminal
“D+” for battery voltage.
Hourmeter
Indicator
MA7640
Replace alternator.
Replace instrument cluster.
If OK
Not
OK

Before troubleshooting any
electrical circuit, ALWAYS
begin by checking the
following:
1. Fuses.
2. Battery for proper charge.
3. All connections relating to
circuit are clean and tight.
4. Check instrument cluster
bulb for proper function.
