Electrical System
With the ignition ON and
the lighting control lever
rotated to 2nd position
(Side Lights & Headlights)
and pulled back for main
beams ON, main beam
indicator and main beams
remain OFF.
Repair/replace
roadlight harness.
Check for battery voltage at
Pin 30, wire [27A] (RED), on
headlight switch relay.
Repair/replace cab harness.
Disconnect two position
connector on roadlight
harness and check for battery
voltage at wire [21C].
Connect six position plug at
lighting control lever and pull
back on lever to flash main
beams.
Check for battery
voltage across headlight
switch relay coil
Pins 85, wire [2KK] (BLK) &
86, wire [21C] (RED).
Check for battery voltage at
Pin 87, wire [23] (GRN), on
headlight switch relay.
Replace lighting control lever.
Disconnect six position plug
at lighting control lever and
check for voltage at roadlight
harness pin C, wire
[31] (YEL).
Replace cab harness.
Replace headlight
switch relay
Repair/replace cab
harness.
If OK
Not
OK

Before troubleshooting any
electrical circuit, ALWAYS
begin by checking the
following:
1. Fuses.
2. All connections relating to
circuit are clean and tight.
3. If dipped beam headlights
do not work, follow the
steps listed at, Section
9.7.51, “Roadlights Side &
Dipped Beam Lights
Circuit and
Troubleshooting (Option),”
before troubleshooting
the main beam circuit.
4. If one of the main beams
work, the circuit is fine,
the failed bulb needs to be
replaced.
