Before troubleshooting any
electrical circuit, ALWAYS
begin by checking the
following:
1. Fuses.
2. All connections relating to
circuit are clean and tight.
3. Check that bulb is OK.
Dash panel alternator
indicator ON continuously.
With engine running, check
for battery voltage at
alternator terminal "D+".
Check alternator at
terminal “B+” for voltage
output of 13.8 -14.2 volts.
Check for proper, low
resistance, ground at
alternator.
Replace alternator.
Not
OK
If OK
If OK
Replace alternator.
Not
OK
Check for battery voltage at
male bulkhead connector,
wire [6] (YEL), Pin C1.
If OK
Repair/replace
engine harness.
Not
OK
Check for battery voltage at
instrument panel connector,
wire [6] (YEL), Pin 8.
If OK
Repair/replace cab harness.
If OK
Replace instrument panel.
