12.4 Emergency Boot Disk
An Emergency Boot Disk comes with the Isis system. If the Isis system will not
boot from the hard disk, it may be possible to get the system running using the
Emergency Boot Disk (EBD). If you believe it’s necessary to use the EBD, Triton
Elics advises that the EBD boot be done either by someone who is familiar with
MS-DOS 6.2 or by someone who is in direct phone contact with Triton Elics.
There are thousands of ways to both corrupt and repair the system configuration
files and disk partitioning tables.
To boot the system from the EBD
Insert the EBD into drive A: and re-power the system.
12.5 Technical Support
Triton Elics offers technical support for all Isis systems under warranty or an
Extended Maintenance Agreement (EMA). Support for systems not under
warranty or EMA is offered by Triton Elics on a time-and-materials basis.
12.5.1 Upgrades to Software and Documentation
The standard Isis warranty and EMA include free software and
documentation upgrades. A software upgrade usually consists of new
features, but occasionally a software upgrade is released in order to remove
a software error. Triton Elics encourages you to report any errors you might
encounter; we also appreciate your suggestions for new features and better
ways to display and process data. Triton Elics’s philosophy is to keep all
users upgraded with the same software. Special, one-of-a-kind versions of
Isis software cannot be sufficiently supported.
Because the Isis software operates on top of two levels of operating
systems, the configuration of these operating systems is critical to efficient
operation of the Isis system. Triton Elics is not responsible for software
difficulties caused by changes made to the DOS or Windows operating
systems or to Isis hardware.
