8.9 Mark
Event
This function is available only while you are recording data. During a recording
session, when you see something you want to mark for future reference, you use
Mark Event to mark the area as it is being recorded. Isis then records a red line
in your data, across-track, to make it easier for you to find the area later during
playback.
To mark an event interactively
1. Start your recording session.
2. When an area or object of interest first comes into view, press ALT+E.
Isis will signal the marked event by putting a red line across track in your
imagery.
3. Make a mental or written note of either the ping number or the northing
and easting where the event occurs.
Every time you press ALT+E in Record mode, the event number in incremented
by 1. The starting value for the event number is stored in the ASCII file
EVENT.NUM in the Isis directory. The file is read at startup and written when Isis
is shut down normally.
8.10 Saved Raw Serial Data
Strings stored in XTF Files with {SAVERAW} on a serial port can now be viewed
during playback in Isis. This gives you a convenient visual indicator that all your
data, not just the data being captured by whatever serial template you may be
using, are being saved during your recording session.
To set up your system for getting Saved Raw Serial Data
1. Set up a serial port to receive the data. (Refer to 4.2). As part of the
serial port setup process, you can specify a serial template at this time,
such as HYPACK, NMEA 0183, TSS, etc. Additionally, or in lieu of one of
the standard templates, type {SAVERAW} in the Navigation/Telemetry
Template text box. That way, all data written to this port will be saved in
the XTF file.
2. Start your recording session by clicking the Rec button on the taskbar or
by choosing File→Start Recording from the main menu.
