Options
(button)
Clicking Options displays a dialog box (Figure 10-28) where
you can save re-tracked altitude values.
Enabling Save newly tracked altitude back is a feature that
is especially useful in a case where the altitude either was not
correctly tracked or not tracked at all. The primary towfish
altitude should be used at all times. The Auxiliary towfish
altitude option is a rarely used special option.
TVG (button)
Displays the TVG and Balance dialog box (Figure 10-29).
To re-track the altitude
It is suggested that you replay the file before saving the newly track altitude
back into the original XTF or DAT file, to ensure the proper settings are in
place for Method, Level, Channel, and Holdoff. Once you are satisfied
with the settings:
1. In the Bottom Track dialog box click Options.
2. Put a check mark in the box for Save newly tracked altitude back into
original XTF or DAT file.
3. Replay the file, re-tracking all or only select parts of the file.
4. If only selective parts of the file are to be re-tracked, scroll to the part of
the file to be re-tracked, choose Save newly track altitude. When you
are finished re-tracking, deselect the box or select Off as a Method.
10.7.3 TVG
(Time-Varied
Gain)
As mentioned in 10.7.2, TVG is closely dependent on bottom tracking. TVG
can be used in Record or Playback Mode. However, in Record Mode, TVG
has no effect on recorded data. You get to the TVG and Balance dialog box
(Figure 10-29) from the Bottom Track dialog box (Figure 10-28).
Figure 10-29 shows some typical settings that might be applied to some
data.
