3. Input selections. These are grouped under the Items to Print area on
the left side of the box. Select the types of information you wish to log by
putting check marks in boxes of interest. As you make your selections,
the system keeps track of your selection order. You can select any or all
inputs. The default is to have nothing checked. If you are working with a
previously modified Report Form dialog box with many boxes checked,
but you anticipate making just a few selections for this Report Form, first
click Clear to remove all check marks in the input area before making
your new selections.
4. Output selections. These are on the right side of the box outside of the
Items to Print area. Select the type(s) of output(s) you wish to have by
putting check marks in boxes of interest. You can select any or all
outputs (to a log file, to a serial port, and to a window). The default is to
have nothing checked. There is no global Clear button for output
selections; each output selection must be checked or unchecked
individually.
Note:
For outputting to a log file to take effect, you must put a check mark in at
least one of the When to Output boxes: Time, Distance, Ping, or New Event
received. Otherwise, no data will be collected in the log file, even if you enabled
(put a check mark in) the Output to a Log File box.
If you decide to output to a log file, please be aware that the
file can get quite large, as all collected data metrics append to
the specified file until the log file output box is unchecked. For
that matter, apart from inspecting the ASCII Report and Report
Form dialog boxes, there is no visual indicator that data are
being collected if you have activated this feature;
consequently, you have to be aware when this feature is active
or inactive.
