give you a wide range of flexibility over the effects you can impose on your
imagery. Only one custom filter per Isis session may be defined. You can
create kernels in odd-dimensioned arrays of 1X1 up to 15X15; they need not
be square. Each element of kernel data is a signed byte, so kernel elements
can have values from -128 to +127.

To specify a custom filter and apply it to your imagery

1. Play back the imagery to which you wish to apply a spatial filter.
2. From the Tools menu, choose Spatial Filter.
3. Choose

either

Sweep image or Run continuously as your filter mode.

4. Choose

Custom from the Kernel size portion of your dialog box

5. If you haven’t already set up the custom filter, choose Setup and make

your choices in the work area window (Figure 9-16).
