4. Press the RUN / STOP button to start the test. The results will be displayed on screen in an easy to
understand format. Users will be able to a plot of the effects of crosstalk.
To repeat the test, press the RUN/STOP button. You can also change option settings if you wish by
pressing the function button associated with TEST SETUP.
7.13 Isolation Test or Stress Leakage Test
Note: This is a Single-ended test.
The Isolation Test or Stress Leakage Test will allow user to determine the quality of the copper pairs
insulation (sheathing). Measures are done by injecting a 100 VDC signal onto the circuit under test and the
CableSHARK loops for break downs in the insulation. A good reading is >30 Mohm.
1. From the Main Menu, select CABLE TESTS (function button F1).
2. Choose ISOLATION TEST or STRESS LEAKAGE from the pop-up menu.
3. Using the SELECT NEXT or SELECT PREVIOUS function keys, select a Test Type of Tip to Ring
4. Press the RUN / STOP button to start the test. A countdown timer will allow users how long the test has
left to finish and will indicate the current Isolation resistance. A failure will be indicated by a resistance
result of less than 30 Mohm.

pressing the function button associated with TEST SETUP.
7.14 ADSL Auto Test
Note: This is a Single-ended test.
The ADSL Auto test quickly evaluates a cable to see if it is acceptable for ADSL based on pre-defined PASS
/ FAIL criteria. The ADSL auto test will perform a DMM test, Longitudinal Balance, Load Coil test, Capacitive
Imbalance, DMT test, and a TDR test.
1. From the Main Menu, select ADSL AUTO (function button F2). This test will take place automatically.
