The DMM Test Setup menu has several options that appear at the upper part of the screen (see the
previous illustration). The parameters can be modified to customize a DMM Test. The DMM Test setup
options are described as follows:
TEST TYPE:
Select from Autotest-14, Autotest-12, Voltage, Resistance, Capacitance or
Current
. Please following the warning screens on the CableSHARK for best use
practices. Use common sense when connecting the CableSHARK to the line.
Telecommunication lines can carry hazardous voltages.
The Autotest selections allow the user to do an automatic DMM test. The unit will
test, in order, Voltage, Resistance and Capacitance. The Autotest-14 will also do
a Current test.
NOTE: If Measurement Standards under System Setup is set to ANSI, then
the CableSHARK’s RESISTANCE Measurement will be titled SHORTS
METER and the CAPACITANCE Measurement will be titled OPENS METER.
