J.4.2 Connecting Through a Network via Ethernet
If you wish to connect via Ethernet, click the radio button next to the label “NETWORK” on the left-hand side
of the “Setup Connection Through…” menu shown in the figure below.
On the Setup Connection Through… dialog box, there is a small field next to the label “IP address” where
the desired IP address can be entered (see Figure J.4A).

Click on the “Connect” button to connect to the CableSHARK over a network (LAN or Internet).
If the error message “Socket Error: The attempt to connect” or “Failed to Connect to CableSHARK” appears,
it may indicate one or more of the following problems:
a) The CableSHARK is already connected to the computer via another direct connection.
b) The cable connection at the CableSHARK is loose or disconnected.
c) The cable connection at the computer is loose or disconnected.
d) The cable is faulty.
