End) not to reflect back any test signals or unnecessarily attenuate the test signal.
The options are 100 ohms, 135 ohms, and AUTO (older hardware will still show
120 and 150 ohms). For single-ended tests, the AUTO impedance setting is
recommended because it gives better accuracy by measuring the cable and
selecting the most appropriate attenuation.

NOISE FILTER:

The options are ISDN E Filter, HSDL F Filter, ADSL G Filter and No Filter. No
Filter is the most ideal selection since it gives the user an unbiased analysis of the
results.

NOTE: The Noise Filter is not available when Test Type is set to the PSD 6 MHz
setting.

MEASUREMENT
UNITS

Allows the user to specify the measurement units for the test. The choices are
dBm and dBr n.

The following items pertain to the Test Type of Impulse Noise

IMP NSE
THRESHOLD

:

Allows the user to preset a threshold (minimum) level of an acceptable noise
spike. The default value is –43 dBm or 47 dBr n.

Allows the user to determine the time during which to count impulse noise spikes.
The options are 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 60 minutes, or 24 hours of
