5.2.3 End-to-End Testing
End-to-End testing allows two CableSHARK’s to connect to the same line to perform a variety of tests (as
shown in Figure 5.2.3A). Tests include End-to-End Frequency Response, DMT tests, and Load Coil
Detection. A CableSHARK at the Far End is the Tx unit, which is running in Remote Responder Mode. It
responds to all End-to-End test requests from the Rx unit as a controller and sends signals for the requested
test down the line to the Rx unit, which in turn converts the signal and analyzes the results. The Rx unit is
the one that analyzes and displays the information.

5.2.4 High Voltage Detection
The CableSHARK will provide the user with visual feedback on the CableSHARK’s LCD if a voltage over
60VAC or 60 VDC is detected. This message will appear only once a test has been executed and is meant
to protect the unit from damage and highlight to the user that a high voltage exists on the circuit under test.
