The ADSL2 / ADSL2+ Data Rate Prediction test looks at the attenuation of the ATU PSD Mask rather than
the simple frequency response of the original DMT test. This process provides a more accurate estimation of
the data rate expected by the customer.
Here are the PSD masks for ATU-R (CPE) and ATU-C (CO). The transmit level of the signal will depend
upon the length of the circuit under test. For short lengths, a low transmit level will be used to prevent
unnecessary crosstalk in adjacent pairs. For long lengths, a higher transmit level will be used to allow the
signal to reach the far end.
