Instructions
The following safety instructions must be observed whenever the CableSHARK Unit is operated, serviced or
repaired. Failing to comply with any of these instructions or with any precaution or warning contained in this
manual is in direct violation of the standards of design, manufacturer and intended use of the equipment.
EXFO Electro-optical Engineering Inc. assumes no liability for the customer’s failure to comply with any of
these safety requirements.
Before Operating the CableSHARK Unit:
•
Inspect the equipment for any signs of damage and read the manual thoroughly.
•
Ensure that equipment and any devices or cords are in good condition.
Operating the CableSHARK Unit:
•
Do not operate the equipment with its covers or panels removed.
•
Use only the type of fuse specified by the manufacturer as appropriate for this equipment.
•
Do not use repaired fuses and avoid any situations that could short circuit the fuse.
• Unless absolutely necessary, do not attempt to adjust or perform any maintenance or repair procedure
when the equipment is opened and connected to a power source at the same time. Any such procedure
should only be carried out by a qualified service professional.
•
Do not attempt any adjustment, maintenance or repair procedure to the equipment if immediate first aid
is not accessible.
•
Disconnect the power supply cord from the equipment before adding or removing any components.
•
Operating the equipment in the presence of flammable gases or fumes is extremely hazardous.
•
Do not perform any operating or maintenance procedure that is not described in this manual.
