Any result can be set up as a REFERENCE MASK. Using the UP/DOWN arrow keys on the CableSHARK’s
keypad, users can highlight a saved result and by pressing the REF ON/OFF key, can set up or a remove a
REFERENCE mask from the highlighted file. The capitol letter “R” beside a file name denotes this result as a
REFERENCE MASK. Multiple results can be designated as REFERENCE MASKS.

5.4.1 Comparing a Result to a Reference Mask

After the completion of a test, any result can be view against a REFERENCE MASK. By selecting the
function key that represents SHOW REF, users will be shown the results in internal memory and on an
external USB Memory that have been designated REFERENCE MASKS. Highlighting the needed
REFERENCE MASK using the UP/DOWN arrow keys, users can then press the SHOW REF key again to
load the highlighted REFERENCE MASK and plot it against the result displayed on the CableSHARK’s
screen. It is up to the user to compare the result with the REFERENCE MASK.
