5-16 MonarchNet for NetWare
Locally
Administered
Address
Locally Administered Addressing allows network
administrators to assign locally administered Token Ring
addresses to Monarch print server devices. These
addresses allow the network administrator to logically
group print server addresses. For example, all print
servers on the third floor can be assigned addresses in a
given range. All print servers on the second floor can be
assigned addresses in a different range.
NOTE: If locally administered addressing is used, the
network administrator must ensure that all
addresses are unique. Duplicate Token Ring
addresses are illegal.
Assigning
To assign a locally administered address, select the
Enable check box and enter the Local Address. You must
enter all digits. The address must fall within the legal
address range of 400000000000 to 7FFFFFFFFFFF.
Removing
To clear a previously assigned locally administered
address, deselect the Enable check box.

The configuration label provides current network, print server and printer
information. To print a configuration label, select the print server from the list
of available print servers. From the Print Server menu, select the Print
Configuration label option.
The configuration label is best displayed using
4” wide by 6” long labels. If the label is too small, some
information may print outside the label edges.
