S e l e c t i n g P S e r v e r o r N P r i n t e r M o d e
You can configure the Monarch print server device to operate in PServer or 
NPrinter mode. The selection of PServer or NPrinter mode is made from the 
Monarch Print Server object Identification page. 
In PServer mode, the Monarch device operates as the print server. It 
services specified queues in the Directory tree. The Monarch device can 
simultaneously access up to eight different file servers and 32 print queues. 
In NPrinter mode, the NetWare Print Server NLM is in control. This NetWare 
Print Server NLM runs on the file server. The Monarch device acts as a 
printer connection device for the NLM. In this mode, the Monarch device can 
only serve one file server. 
There are several factors to consider when choosing which mode to use. The 
following table summarizes these considerations.
