The following are some common problems users encounter with the
MonarchNet for NDS utility.
Problem:
Solution:
A Monarch device is not showing up
in the Create Monarch Printer Server
device list.
Check the following:

Verify the Monarch device is
properly attached to the network.
The Link Status LED should be on
if a Twisted-pair connector is
installed.

Verify the current filter criteria
doesn't filter out the device.
♦
Select Find Device from the
Create Monarch Print Server
dialog. Enter the network number
and hardware address of the
device you are trying to locate.

The following are some common problems users encounter when printing to a
Monarch print server device. The problems are grouped by type of network
environment.
NetWare Environment:
Problem:
Solution:
Print job is garbage.
Check for NO TABS in the capture
statement.
Print job is not printing.
Use PCONSOLE to make sure the
print server is attached and the
queue is attached to the correct port.
Graphic jobs are getting cut off.
Use MonarchNet for NDS to change
the timeout settings.
PJL=Garbage on printouts.
Use an MonarchNet utility to turn
ALS off.
