Data lines (ASCII strings) are transferred from the 726 Titroprocessor; these
are terminated with the control characters C
R
and L
F
. This is also an abso-
lute necessity for character sequences which are transmitted to the Titro-
processor.
The special syntax of the Metrohm remote language is used for controlling
Metrohm instruments via the RS 232 interfaces. The most frequently used
remote control commands or messages with Metrohm instruments are:
Function
Character sequence Effect
Start
&M;$G
starts the loaded method
Stop
&M;$S
stops the active method
The most frequently used remote status messages with Metrohm instru-
ments are:
Message
Character sequence Meaning
Ready
*R"
ready message
Error
*;E*
error message
CTRL_RS1, CTRL_RS2
Send character string
The Titroprocessor sends a character string with up to 50 characters to RS
232 interface 1 or 2 which is terminated as a data line with a C
R
and an L
F
character. It must be ensured that the connected instrument is ready to re-
ceive data and can accept data in this form. Many instruments are able to
confirm data receival with a status message or if need be to send an error
