The assignment of the logical input and output lines on the pin occupancy
of the particular remote sockets is largely unified for Metrohm instruments,
so that with the help of a 6.2141.020 standard remote cable remote con-
nections can be made relatively simply and communication commands
used without any problems. If instruments from other manufacturers are
used then the technical data given in their instruction manuals should be
consulted. If the differing pin occupancies of the remote interfaces cause
any problems then the service department of your local Metrohm agency
will be able provide a suitable connection cable.
Tip: the current states of the input lines (Input 0…7) can be monitored 'live'
for the creation of a method. It is also possible to alter the output lines
(Output 0…8, or …13) manually to check their effects.
This is done by opening the dialog page 'Devices & Manual Con-
trol'
with the
interface can be found under the softkey [Remote lines] (or [Sample
changer] [Remote lines]
).
With the help of the remote control lines items such as external pumps, Ion
meters or a KF Oven can be connected to the 726 Titroprocessor and con-
trolled by it. With the aid of the Metrohm 731 Relay box any other external
instruments can be controlled via remote lines.
SCAN_RM
Scanning the input lines of the remote socket
The method run is stopped until the status of the input lines corresponds to
the preset bit pattern. Short signal impulses (>200 ms) are recognized. The
statuses of the input lines are not altered by the SCAN command.

SCAN_RM
Remote A Remote ********
The input lines of the Titroprocessor itself as well as those of the remote
sockets of the two connected 717 Sample changers can be scanned.
Remote
Remote socket address
A | 1 |2
The Titroprocessor remote socket has the address A; the
remote socket of a sample changer is always 1 or 2, de-
pending on the EBus address of the changer.
Pattern
Bit pattern of line status
8 characters (0 | 1 | *)
An 8-place bit pattern is defined in which each bit is as-
signed to an input line. If they coincide the method run is
continued with the next command line.
