Syntax: [no] ipv6 router vrrp-extended
Syntax: [no] ipv6-address ipv6-address
Syntax: [no] ipv6 vrrp-extended vrid vrid
Syntax: [no] backup [ priority value] [ track-priority value ]
Syntax: [no] activate
The vrid variable specifies the virtual router ID.
The ipv6-address variable specifies the IPv6 address of the router.
You must identify a VRRP-E router as a Backup before you can activate the virtual router on a Brocade
device. However, after you configure the virtual router, you can use the backup command to change its
priority or track priority.
The priority value option specifies the IPv6 VRRP-E priority for this virtual Backup router. You can
specify a value from 3 through 254. The default is 100.
The track-priority value option changes the track port priority of a Backup router. You can specify a
value from 1 through 254. The default is 5.
NOTE
You also can use the enable command to activate the configuration. This command does the same
thing as the activate command.
Additional VRRP and VRRP-E parameter configuration
You can modify the following VRRP and VRRP-E parameters on an individual VRID basis. These
parameters apply to both protocols:
• Authentication type (if the interfaces on which you configure the VRID use authentication)
• Router type (Owner or Backup)
NOTE
For VRRP, change the router type only if you have moved the real IP address from one router to
another or you accidentally configured the IP address Owner as a Backup. For VRRP-E, the router type
is always Backup. You cannot change the type to Owner.
• Suppression of RIP advertisements on Backup routes for the backed-up interface
• Hello interval
• Dead interval
• Backup Hello messages and message timer (Backup advertisement)
• Track port
• Track priority
