LOSSARY

HANC LTC

Horizontal Ancillary time code LTC as defined in
the XMPTE 259M and RP188 standards.

HANC VITC

Horizontal Ancillary time code VITC as defined in
the XMPTE 259M and RP188 standards.

LTC

Linear or Longitudinal Time Code. This is the
time code defined on or plugged into the XT[2]
server.

LTC table

Time code jump table in which the jumps in LTC
time codes are stored.

OSD

On-Screen Display. Information displayed on the
output monitor.

Protect IN point

Position, i.e. time code, which represents the
first image of the protected video material for a
clip, i.e. the first image before the IN guardband.

Protect OUT point

Position, i.e. time code, which represents the
last image of the protected video material for a
clip, i.e. the last image after the OUT guardband.

Short IN point

Position, i.e. time code, which represents the
first image of a clip. This is also called IN point
in this user manual.

Short OUT point

Position, i.e. time code, which represents the
last image of a clip. This is also called OUT point
in this user manual.

VITC

Vertical Internal Time Code. This is the time
code, associated with the video signal. It is
inserted in the vertical blanking interval of the
video signal.

VITC table

Time code jump table in which the user defined
time code type is stored. This will usually be the
VITC in SD and HANC VITC in HD but could be
another time code type.
