tasks are available as part of the standard Doors.NET program. Other tasks are optional,
licensed features. When using Local Linkage, All automation tasks are performed within
the controller itself; there is no reliance on a host PC to perform the task. Doors.NET sup-
ports the creation of up to 1,000 macros and 1,000 triggers.
Triggers
A trigger condition is simply a system transaction that meets a specified criteria. When
the system sees the trigger you have defined it will execute a procedure that you have
defined. The trigger condition can be anything that the hardware is able to see, for
instance; an input going active or secure, an access granted or access denied message,
a time schedule going active, a controller or reader going offline, a tamper input going
active/secure, or something very specific, like; an access grant, at the rear door, by one
of the cleaning crew, on the weekend, when another employee has already entered the
building.
Procedures/Macros
The procedures within Doors.NET are anything that the hardware is able to do, it can be
thought of as the actions that can be performed. You can have several procedures and
each procedure can have several actions. As an example, you might have a procedure
named Lockdown Facility, the procedure might be to grant an Anti-Passback free pass if
someone activates a hazardous pull station. Some other examples of Procedures that
can be defined are:
l
Monitor Point Control - Mask or Unmask inputs on the system
l
Control Point Control - Switch outputs ON or OFF or set them to a momentary
pulse
l
Procedure Control - There may be another procedure on the system currently run-
ning that you wish to abort
l
Change reader modes - Set a keypad/reader to; Card+PIN, Card or PIN, Card
only, PIN only, Unlock, Lockdown or Lockout (are just a few examples).
l
Reader Temporary LED control - Define how you wish the reader's LED to dis-
play
l
Trigger Variable Control - 125 different variables you can set high or low.
Both Local and Global linkage can make your security system much more flexible in
terms of creating custom applications.

create a macro that will automatically send a message via email or SMS whenever a
