If necessary, enter the
set lun
command again to correct any incorrect role assignments.
NOTE:
You can only change the role of a LUN if the LUN is not in use; that is, if you have not already
configured a file system that is using the LUN. The
Used by
field in the output from the
show lun
command indicates whether the LUN is in use. This field is automatically populated by the
create
filesystem
command.
When you have assigned the LUN roles and specified the preferred controllers as necessary, proceed to
Section 5.1.4 to identify the file system information.
5.1.4 Step 4: Identifying file system information — EVA4000 storage
NOTE:
The short system name (that is, the system name without the domain name) is used in file system
configuration. If you have more than one HP SFS system with the same short system name (for example,
south.my.domain.com
and
south.fs.com
), you must create a nickname for one of the systems. If a
system nickname is needed, create it before you create the file system. See Section 5.9 for information on
how to do this.
The
create filesystem
command is used to set up file systems. A series of questions prompts you to
enter the required information. An example of creating a file system is shown in Section 5.1.5. Before you
set up a file system, identify the information you will need, including the following:
File system name
The file system name must be a maximum length of 32 characters and must not contain spaces.
HP recommends that you use a shorter name (not more than 10 characters). This will simplify administration
and make the displays easier to view.
Mount point
The mount point defined for the file system is the mount point that client nodes will use when mounting the
file system. Each client node that mounts the file system must have a directory with the same name as the
file system mount point. This directory is used as the mount point.
All clients must use the same mount point for a file system. The HP SFS system does not support different
clients mounting the same file system on different mount points.
You can accept the suggested default (based on the file system name) or specify a different mount point.
