CLI commands
A–6
When high priority is specified, expansion or rebuild occurs at the
expense of normal I/O operations. Although system performance is
affected, this setting provides better data protection because the array is
vulnerable to additional drive failures for a shorter time.
For more information on rebuild priority settings, refer to Appendix J of the
HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share System Installation and Upgrade
Guide.
surface_scan_delay
Specifies the length of time the array must be idle before a surface scan
starts. By default, the delay is set to two seconds; HP recommends that you
do not change the default unless you are requested to do so by your HP
Customer Support representative.
NOTE:
The configure
array command
starts the RAID parity initialization process on the array.
Performance of an array is not optimal until parity initialization is complete.
Example
In the following example, arrays
1
and 2 (which are attached to the administration and MDS servers) are
configured as described below:
sfs> configure array 1,2 luns_size=33%,all
Arrays 1 and 2 are configured as follows:
•
One disk group of eleven disks plus one spare disk
•
ADG redundancy
•
An administration LUN (or spare administration LUN)
•
A service LUN (or spare service LUN)
•
Two MDS LUNs, one using 33% of the remaining space in the disk group (after the administration
LUN and service LUN have been created), and the second using the remaining available space in the
disk group
Because the array is attached to the administration and MDS server, the LUNs (other than the administration
and service LUNs) are assigned the
mds
role.
A.5.2
configure server
The
configure server
command configures servers. This command is issued automatically each time
an Object Storage Server is booted and is used to configure the Object Storage Server. The
configure
server
command can also be used to complete the configuration of an Object Storage Server
configuration, for example, if a service LUN is made available after the server has booted.
Syntax
configure server server_name|all [endstate=end_state] [redo=redo_value]
Arguments
server_name|all
Required. Specify the names of the servers to be configured, or
all
to
configure all servers in the HP SFS system. You can specify a single server, a
comma-separated list of servers, or a range of servers.
endstate
Optional. Specify the state to which the servers are to be configured. Valid
values are
Unconfigured
,
Prepared
,
Booted
,
Db_Moved
,
Clusterized
, and
Configured
. The state specified here must be more
advanced than the current state of the servers that are being configured.
