Configuration impact

File system is unavailable while PDU is down.

Process

Shut down the servers in the rack before replacing the PDU. The servers automatically reboot when the PDU

is replaced.

None.

Process

No action required.

8.1.31 Replacing a Power Distribution Unit (PDU) on an HP ProCurve Switch 2650

or HP ProCurve Switch 2626

Process

Shut down all servers connected to the switch before replacing the PDU.

8.2 Upgrading firmware

This section provides information on upgrading firmware on components in the HP SFS system, and is

8.2.1 Upgrading firmware on a server

The HP Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) Management Controller firmware and the BIOS - System ROM firmware

on a server can be upgraded while the server is running.

upgrades.
