To shut down an Object Storage Server or the MDS server, enter the command shown in the following
example, where server
south3
is shut down. You can specify one or more servers:
sfs> shutdown server south3
Are you sure you wish to shutdown the server(s) "south3"? [no]: yes
You are prompted to confirm that you want to shut down the server; enter
yes
to confirm. The server is then
shut down, the power to the server is turned off, and messages similar to the following are displayed:

16:30:14 south3 -- Shutting down now

To shut down more than one server at a time, enter the
shutdown server
command as shown in the
following example:
sfs> shutdown server south[3-4]
3.6 Shutting down the administration server
To shut down the administration server, perform the following steps:
1.
Log in to the MDS server as
root
user.
2.
Enter the following command. You are prompted to confirm that you want to shut down the servers;
enter
yes
to confirm:
sfs> shutdown server south1
Are you sure you wish to shutdown the server(s) "south1"? [no]: yes

The administration service may take some time to fail over to the MDS server, and the following
message may be displayed:
The database server is not yet ready, do you want to proceed? [n]:
Press the
Return
key to accept the default; the
sfsmgr
command then terminates. Wait for 10
seconds, then enter the
sfsmgr
command again. Continue trying at 10 second intervals until the
command is successful.
4.
When the
sfsmgr
command starts the CLI, turn off the power to administration server by entering the
command shown in the following example:
sfs> shutdown server south1 wait=0
