3.9 Unconfiguring storage arrays
This section describe how to unconfigure storage arrays, and is organized as follows:
• Unconfiguring EVA4000 arrays attached to the administration and MDS servers (Section 3.9.1)
• Unconfiguring EVA4000 arrays attached to Object Storage Servers (Section 3.9.2)
• Unconfiguring SFS20 arrays attached to the administration and MDS servers (Section 3.9.3)
• Unconfiguring SFS20 arrays attached to Object Storage Servers (Section 3.9.4)
3.9.1 Unconfiguring EVA4000 arrays attached to the administration and MDS
servers
CAUTION: When you unconfigure the arrays attached to the administration and MDS server, you
effectively delete the entire HP SFS system configuration, and you must reinstall the system, as described
here.
Unconfiguring the arrays attached to the administration and MDS servers is not a routine task; you will only
unconfigure these arrays if you want to reconfigure your entire system; in turn, this means that you must
reinstall the system.
To unconfigure the EVA4000 arrays attached to the administration and MDS servers and reinstall the system,
perform the following steps:
1. Unmount all of the file systems on all client nodes.
2. Stop all of the file systems by entering the command shown in the following example, where the
data
file is system is stopped:
sfs> stop filesystem data
Repeat the command for each file system.
3. Delete all of the file systems by entering the command shown in the following example, where the
data
file system is deleted:
sfs> delete filesystem data
Repeat the command for each file system.
4. Shut down all of the servers except the administration server.
5. On the administration server, enter the following command:
sfs> service cluster stop
6. Unconfigure the arrays attached to the administration and MDS servers using either the SSSU utility or
the Command View EVA Web interface, as follows:
• To unconfigure an array using the SSSU utility, perform the following steps:
a.
Connect to the Microsoft® Windows® server where Command View EVA is installed using
the SSSU utility. (Refer to Chapter 5 of the HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share System
Installation and Upgrade Guide for more information on how to do this.)
b. Enter the commands shown in the following example, where
HSV03
is the array to be
unconfigured:
sssu> set option nosafe_delete
sssu> delete system HSV03
• To unconfigure an array using the Command View EVA Web interface, perform the following
steps:
a.
Connect to the Microsoft Windows server where Command View EVA is installed using a
Web browser. (Refer to Chapter 5 of the HP StorageWorks Scalable File Share System
Installation and Upgrade Guide for more information on how to do this.)
