Viewing LUN information
4–11
To see more information on an OST service, enter the
show ost
command for the OST service, as shown
in the following example:
sfs> show ost ost14
Name: ost14
Filesystem: data
Primary Server: south5
Running on: south6
LUN (WWID): 600508b4-0000c11b-00022000-006c0000
LUN (Number): 14
Partition: 1
The output shows the server that the service normally runs on (the
Primary Server
field), and the server
that the service is currently running on (the
Running on
field). The output in this example shows that the
OST service
ost14
is normally served by the
south5
server. However, in this case, the OST service is
running on the
south6
server, indicating that the
south5
server is down.
The output also shows the WWID and LUN number of the OST LUN that stores file system data for the
ost14
service.
4.4 Viewing LUN information
The
show lun
command shows information on all of the LUNs in the system. If you want to identify OST
LUNs that are not being used by a file system, or if you suspect that a LUN has not been correctly presented
to a server pair, you can enter the
show lun
command as shown in the following example:
sfs> show lun
LUN Array Role Used by Size(GB) Preferred Server Visible to
--- ----- ----- ---------- -------- ---------------- ----------
1 1 adm south1 40
- south[1-2]
2 1 service south1 1 - south[1-2]
3 1 mds data 290 south2 south[2-3]
4 1 mds - 290 - south[1-2]
5 1 mds - 290 - south[1-2]
6 1 mds - 290 - south[1-2]
7 2 service south3 1 - south[3-4]
8 2 ost ost3 290 south3 south[3-4]
9 2 ost - 290 south3 south[3-4]
.
.
.
In this example, the output provides the following information:
•
The MDS LUN for the
data
file system (LUN number 3) has been incorrectly presented to the servers:
if it was correctly presented, it would be visible to both the administration and the MDS servers
(
south1
and
south2
), and it would not be visible to
south3
.
•
OST LUN number 8 is assigned to the
ost3
service; however, OST LUN number 9 has not yet been
assigned to an OST service (that is, it is not being used by a file system).
To see more information on a LUN, enter the
show lun
command for the LUN, as shown in the following
example. This example is from a system where EVA4000 storage is used:
sfs> show lun 2
LUN (WWID): 600508b4-0000c11b-00022000-00ca0000
LUN (Number): 2

Array (WWID): 50001fe1-50007070
Array (Number): 1
Array (Name): P4889B59IMD00V
