When the command prompt returns, the upgrade is complete. Reboot the server to bring the new

•
Removing Object Storage Servers (Section 8.3.2)
•
Adding SFS20 arrays (Section 8.3.3)
•

8.3.1 Adding Object Storage Servers
It is possible to add Object Storage Servers to an existing HP SFS system. Because servers are organized in
pairs, you must add new Object Storage Servers in pairs.
The following instructions describe how to add a pair of Object Storage Servers to an existing HP SFS system
that already has four servers (an administration server, an MDS server, and two Object Storage Servers).
You can adapt the procedure to add a number of pairs of Object Storage Servers at the same time:
1.
Configure the ProLiant DL servers as described in Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 of the HP StorageWorks
Scalable File Share System Installation and Upgrade Guide.
2.
Back up the database, as follows:
# sfsmgr
.
.
.
sfs> create database_backup
3.
Save the backup file to an external system, as shown in the following example, where the full name of
the backup file is
/var/hpls.local/hplsdb_20040311-1041.tar.gz
, the external system
host address is
16.123.123.1
, and the account on the host is named
fred
:
# scp /var/hpls.local/hplsdb_200403011-1041.tar.gz \
[email protected]:/home/fred
4.
Enter the
configure system
command, select the option for the
System
menu, and then increase
the number of servers in the system (from four to six in this example), as follows:
sfs> configure system
This menu allows you to specify or update configuration data. If
you are not happy with any of the data you have entered, you may
reenter it again. Your changes do not take affect until you exit.
If you choose to quit, all changes you have made are discarded.
At any stage you can enter ? to get more help on the topic.
To update data select one or all of the following sections:
1) System
2) Configure Networks
3) Network Services
4) Management Network
5) iLO Access
6) Storage
