4.1.1 Server information after system parameter is changed

If certain system parameters (such as the

Start IP address

of an interconnect) are changed (using the

configure server command, as described in Section 7.1), the servers are using an actual configuration that

differs from the parameters in the database. To indicate this, the system changes the state of the server to

not-configured

, as shown in the following example:

sfs> show server

Name State Power Services
---------- -------------- -------- ----------
south1 not-configured on (was admin)
south1 not-configured on (was mds22)
south2 not-configured on (was ost65)
south3 not-configured on (was ost66)

In addition, the status for an individual server (as shown by the

show server server_name

command)

is also changed to indicate that the configure server command must be run to update interconnect

configuration on the server. The server’s status is shown as

Run configure server command to

update to latest configuration

, as shown in the following example:

sfs> show server south4

Name: south4
Primary Role: ost
Backup Server: south3
Server Firmware Model: 29
Server Firmware Date: 09/15/2004
iLO Firmware: 1.82

Current Config. State: Clusterized
Desired Config. State: Configured
Status: Run configure server command to update to latest
configuration

State: not-configured

.

To recover from this situation, follow the procedures described in Table 7-1 in Chapter 7.

CAUTION:

If you do not follow the correct procedures for changing system parameters, client nodes may

be unable to access or mount file systems.

4.2 Viewing file system information

The

show filesystem

command shows information about file systems.

To determine whether file systems have been started or stopped, and to see configuration information about

file systems, enter the

show filesystem

command, as shown in the following example:

sfs> show filesystem

Name State Services
------------- -------------- ----------------------------------
data started mds3: running, ost[10-15]: running

The file system states (shown in the

State

field) are described in Table 4-2.
