Size

The size of the LUN, in gigabytes.

Used

For the MDS service: the percentage of the total number of files (shown in the

Files

field) used by existing files (for example, a value of 30% indicates that

another 60% of the total number of files can be created).
For OST services: the percentage of the total space used by files stored in the

OST service (for example, a value of 80% indicates that the OST LUN is quite

full).

Service State

The state of the MDS or OST service. See Table 4-3 for a description of the

possible server states.

Running on

The server where the service is currently running. If an MDS or OST service is

not running on its preferred server, the server is highlighted with an

exclamation mark (

!

), and the following message is displayed by the

show

filesystem filesystem_name

command:

(servers marked ! are not preferred server)

If the service is stopped, the name of the preferred server is shown. The name

of the server is highlighted with an asterisk (

*

) and the following message is

displayed:

(servers marked * are preferred server; service is not

running)

The output from the

show filesystem data

command above shows that there are two errors in the file

system storage configuration:

In the server pair of

south3

and

south4

, the

south3

server is overloaded, because three OST

LUNs have been preferred to this server and only one has been preferred to the

south4

server. This

is the result of an error in the way the preferred server for each OST LUN was specified when the file

system was configured. For more information on configuring file systems, see Chapter 5.

Array number 3 is presented through only one controller. This indicates that there is a problem with

the EVA4000 array; one of the controllers may have failed.

4.3 Viewing OST service information

The

show ost

command lists the servers that serve each OST service in the system, as well as the file system

that each OST service is used by.

To view the information on all OST services in the system, enter the

show ost

command, as shown in the

following example:

sfs> show ost
